If you cannot find what you want from this site please pick up the phone or e-mail us.  There is very little that we cannot do and much that we will do if you need us.

This site is designed to give you some idea of what we do, what we can do for you and how we do it.

The firm of RJ Hawksley & Co was established with one goal - to assist those in need in a modern  and friendly way.

We believe that the role of the solicitor is to support the client in their dealings with the law.   All we do is tell you what the law is and what best to do to achieve the objectives you need within the law.   We can advise you what you need to do or we can do it for you with your help. 

Whichever way, the role of the solicitor really is to help the client to help themselves.    The relationship between client and solicitor is symbiotic - we need each other's help as, if you do not tell us everything and do your part, nothing can happen.

Our Aims

Our aim is simple.   We want to provide good service in a happy and relaxed atmosphere.   We take your case seriously but try not to take ourselves too seriously!

By good service we mean service that is:-

We believe that it is essential in the law to provide a relaxed and welcoming environment and to be approachable.  Without this we believe you won't tell us everything and we cannot do our best for you.

Whilst we want you to tell us everything, you should be aware that under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2003 if any solicitor has reason to believe that a client has been handling or dealing in the proceeds of crime, we are obliged to report that client to the NCIS.  This means no spilling the beans on the windows paid for in cash.

Opening Hours

We are a little unorthodox in our opening hours which are as follows:-

Unfortunately bad news tends to come when no one is around on a weekend and so we are open on Saturdays to help you out with those horrible Saturday morning posts, or if you can't get away from work to come and see us !

Special Requirements

For those who cannot manage stairs for whatever reason we confirm that we are on the ground floor.   There is no step outside and the door is wide enough to allow wheelchair access.

Becky Hawksley has CACDP level I and so whilst we still need interpreters for complex appointments and for the court we can at least make those who rely on signing welcome.
