In the law there are two types of matters:

Non-contentious and Contentious

 

   con·ten·tious  [kuhn-ten-shuhs]

  –adjective
  1. tending to argument or strife; quarrelsome: a contentious crew.
  2. causing, involving, or characterized by argument or controversy: contentious issues.
  3. Law. pertaining to causes between contending parties.
 
  Our role is twofold: to prevent problems in the future (non-contentious) and to dig you out of holes if no precautions were taken 
 (contentious)
 
 
 
 
Non-contentious work
 
This is really anything that involves preventative or non-disputed matters.
 
It is our job to foresee problems and try and prevent them.  This includes:
 
- Conveyancing (buying and selling houses)
- Wills and Probate (the planning and administering of post death estates)
- Contracts
- Company commercial matters
- Employment advice and employment tribunals (yes the rules say that this is non-contentious
- Change of name deeds
- Prenuptial agreements
- Parenting agreements

  Contentious matters
 
  When you are arguing and trying to fight your way out of a situation then thats where we come into it.  We can take care of you in the following fields:
 
 - Civil litigation
 - Family litigation
 - Housing litigation
 - Debt litigation
 - Enforcement of Debts and resisting enforcement
 - Insolvency

 We have extensive experience in the Court of Appeal and Becky is very proud to have been admitted for 12 years and has 10 reported cases.  We do a lot of High Court work and a huge amount of County Court Work.  We are a general practice but we do a lot of exciting and useful work, we believe in the law, we push the boundaries and importantly we believe in you as well as us and that is an unstoppable combination.  Between us we can improve whatever situation that you find yourself in.
